What Is Beit Shalom House of Peace?

Who is Beit Shalom House of Peace? The Quick answer is a Prayer/Worship Room offering Women’s Community Services in Texarkana, Texas. Our prayer/worship room is open to the community and everyone is invited to come and pray, worship, paint, draw, dance, sing, or just come and enjoy a cup of tea/coffee and soak in His presence… however the Holy Spirit moves you. We believe that we worship a living God who is still speaking today. We believe that He desires to have a deep intimate relationship with each of us. We believe that in the moments of worship, God will be ministering to each of us where we are. We believe we are going to experience God in a very real and supernatural way. Expect miracles and please tell us all about them. We love to hear what He is speaking to you.

As a women’s ministry will offer supportive services to widows and girls who are aging out of state foster care. BSHP strives to be an example of how to care for our widowed and orphaned children. Zechariah 7:9-10 CJB 9 "In the past ADONAI-Tzva'ot said, 'Administer true justice. Let everyone show mercy and compassion to his brother. 10 Don't oppress widows, orphans, foreigners, or poor people. Don't plot evil against each other.'

Since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 our City and the surrounding areas have seen numerous deaths due to Covid and many other non-Covid-related deaths. Many have left behind wives, mothers, daughters, and partners to pick up the pieces. That transition has made it very difficult for them to regain a sense of normalcy in their lives. Depression, fear, isolation, loss of income, and for some a loss of a place to call home. In the wake of this pandemic, we are seeing a need and too few resources are available to aid this demographic

Our communities have also seen an increase in the number of children who have entered the foster care program. With Thousands of children and a lack of eligible foster parents, many of the children grow up without a family or anyone to teach them how to survive in this world. Imagine not having a family to encourage and support you through life. No one to celebrate your accomplishments and no one to listen when you are struggling. The numbers are staggering to learn how many end up on drugs, prostitution, or homeless. It is our goal to help those we can as they are aging out of foster care, however, we always have a place for those who have aged out at any time in their lives.

The direction we are moving towards is one that will eventually provide shelter if needed, a warm bed, and a safe place to get on their feet (praying this happens by the end of 2025). BSHP believes that each of us has something special and unique to teach. 95% of what we learn is what we teach others. We will foster an atmosphere that will encourage community and building relationships/ BSHP will provide supportive assistance with Biblical counseling, life coaching, home economics, self-care, fitness, nutrition, financial education, social support, parenting, and a positive environment to care for the needs of self and each other.
